For our committee, the decision to allow such a project to take place was based on the future of village halls in the 21st century, as well as what the installation involved, anchors had to be put in the roof, to support the weight of steel tubes to carry the weight of any such project, in this slide show you can see basic requirements, steel eye’s are set 7feet up from the floor, all round the building, these are heavy duty raw bolted insertions, once in place are secured by a lock nut, and become a permanent feature, here we have allowed the bulk of the eye’s to be behind the curtains, but some will appear round the building, as does the steel roof anchor’s, a thin very strong rope is thread through the eyes all the way round, then pulled very tight as to be near rigged, the Marquee sides are simply hooked to this, along with, if need be, wall lamps, here we don’t have these, but are available if required, so the rope has to be able to take extra weight, if used,
