Some older versions of windowsXP didn't have the Java VM, as part of the install,

The links to Microsoft above may help resolve any issues,

The link below, you can get a copy of JVM, it explains the problem, and applies only to versions of XP were Java Virtual Machine, was not part of the OEM,

Other important information about windows installing procedure

You can learn more about installing windows to your upgrade mother board, or computer, at the Microsoft Web Site, at the two links here, you should be aware of, if you install counterfeit copies of windows,[ Valid Microsoft Concerns, Info]

Our advice, when you install your new system, do not activate it till you have clearly tested the system works as it should, if you think it has a hardware or software problem, during your tests, you should replace the relevant offending components and test again, when your sure all is working as it should be, use activation protocol, but be aware once activate completes, your windows disk and mother board are assigned to each other and registered at Microsoft, the process can not be transferred to another computer later in or as upgrade, even if the said system is then scrapped, so please take the time to read the data provided at these links. At Microsoft.

XP/ VISTA PLATFORM ?

Two very good platforms, both have unique properties, enough said, some things you may not be aware of,

USB use, each port has a unique assign protocol, an example being, if you connect your printer, or other hard ware to a USB port,

One example applies to [nearly all hard ware stuff], A printer, connect to the USB, wait for the message to appear from Apps tray, reads hardware found, etc, wait till the message reads “ready to use” ,   during this process ignore the Wizard box if it appears, untill ready to use message has appeared, the the device is ready to use, if ready to use doesn’t appear, instead, reads .......but may not work correctly  you should use the wizard to manualy direct the computer to a disk known to contain the correct driver, or go on line to finish the driver install process, or, go to hardware profiles, find the device in USB list, right click for ther properties box, UPDAT DRIVER protocol, to either add driver or update driver,    what you may not know, is, you do not, and in most cases should not install any software, coming with the hard ware, such as printer program software, for XP/Vista, the windows default printer syntax is more than able to do any print job 100%, either directly or via any program like office, paint etc, each program has its own sizing and other protocols built in, [ which hooks into windows printer] so any printing operation is already within windows itself, installing additional software, may conflict badly, with windows syntax,[components]  our own research over recent years, has show windowsXP/Vista to correctly and automaticaly find new hardware, then install a driver compliant with windows needs, all that remains is the various software you install like DVD burn stuff, office stuff, paint shop & imaging stuff, all have a print mode, which hooks into windows print protocols on command, along with many print settings and adjustments before you actually click print, also windows print properties, offer all tools to test and set up printing

USB Assign :-  you may, like most people assume, once the printer [etc] has been plugged to a USB, it may at some stage be removed, nothing wrong with this, BUT, what you may not know, is,  you must always re-connect to the same USB port, [its already now assigned] failure to observe this operation will stop the printer working correctly, if at all, the same rule applies to pen drives etc, etc, were you plug in, but for some reason fails to open or initialise,

So look at USB in a new way, and solve simple issues you’ve had when you re-connect a device, and it fails to work, above is the reason, USB like graphics sound etc, all have the same component Assigned protocol or syntax, its all part of the logic of computing, commanding, etc, so often people get a simple problem, and start looking at software or viruses etc to try solve simple failure issues, when the assigned attached device fails,

Following paragraphs based on our own research, and is a guide only,

THE FONTS MYSTERY

It should be noted ; new versions of JAVA are now available at the java.com site, but you should be aware, that differant browsers may use alternative java script downloads, so be guided a bit by the page you look at on the web, it may issue a notice about java or flash, just follow on screen instructions, you may be prompted by your security, about the download, use common sence instructions.

Let’s clear this silly mystery up right here, FONTS do not come with the office software, or paint software, or any other software, unless its a special fonts feature built into the program, even here you will find it still uses “windows fonts folder” found in Control Panel, [In all windows platforms,]so lets be clear about fonts, if you open the fonts [choices] menu in any program it opens the windows fonts folder were all fonts are listed, you can add or remove these at will or by personal choice, but this folder is the only place you’ll find any fonts in windows, there are numerous web sites were plenty of free fonts can be downloaded, but you must install these correctly,  by opening the fonts folder, and clicking on the ADD FONTS command, you need to know the folder name you saved new fonts into after any download, if you accidentally try to install a font already listed, it will ask to over write, skip,  do not copy and paste, remember, control panel is a windows system folder, and cant be treated as a copy and paste folder.
